The Cadena Pecan shelling facility
Est. 2001

About

Cadena Pecan started in 2001 in Chihuahua, Mexico, shelling and selling a first crop off orchards of our own. Within two years we had turned a profit and won buyers who kept coming back.

Demand soon outgrew what our own orchards could supply. We source most of our pecans from growers across the region and farm our original orchards alongside them. We shell every load in Chihuahua on lines that sort by size and shade, and we grade what we buy against what we grow.

We run two operations: shelling in Chihuahua and distribution out of El Paso, Texas, with our own orchards feeding part of the crop. We haul the shelled pecans north across the border, and from El Paso we ship to the United States, Canada, and China, our steadiest markets.

Twenty-five years on, those same buyers keep reordering, in boxes from 1 lb up to 13.5 lb, and the orchards we started with still feed part of what we ship.
